I've often wondered what kinda HP could be achieved with a turbo set up coupled with a top fuel budget. I figure the 6000-8000hp they're gettin these days would be blown into the weeds. 'Course they'd have to come up with even heftier drive trains to be able to hold the huge increases in HP they'd be gettin.

F-1 used to get 1000+hp from turboed 1.5L engines (w 80+psi of boost even before the advent of computer controlled engine management!!!) before they eventually banned 'em as too powerful eye popping smiley
