I agree with separating talent from lifestyle choices and that yes the two do interact. How could they not? I am not familiar with Amy at all. I kind of differ in some ways about the Doors though. I think some of Jim's poetry was kinda sloppy. Not to say I didn't enjoy it. I just think people like Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne do a better job of that painting pictures with words and music. Same for Leonard Cohen, who I hated to hear but loved his compositions performed by others.
