at The Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison Texas (the Addison Airport), a couple
miles from my house.

I know of two privately owned F4U Corsairs in Nevada, and one in eastern Oregon
and one in Washington State. Two of these are regulars at OshKosh, flying side
by side to the annual event.
Ever see or hear one of these fly over your head at over 400 MPH? The sound of
the radial engine and that huge prop clawing through the air reverberates in
your bones! AWESOME!!!

i believe it's every memorial day the corsairs, a flying tiger and a p-40
chase a Japanese zero around in an annual airshow, then the zero puts off a
large plume of smoke and dives out of sight. all this right over my head. the
noise is ear splitting and shakes the shit outta every building around! forkin'
awesome!
i'm glad to hear there are more corsairs in the air now-a-days.....:~}

Yep, all of these great old warbirds should live on forever...even if the great
men who flew them cannot. Over Portland International raceway a couple of years
ago, I saw something that just about brought tears to my eyes....a beautifully
restored B-17G being escorted by a couple of P-51D Mustangs. What a sight!
