The Swastika has an extensive history. The motif seems to have first been used
in Neolithic Eurasia. The swastika is used in religious and civil ceremonies in
Hindu countries(especially Nepal and India). Most Indian temples, entrance of
houses, weddings, festivals and celebrations are decorated with swastikas. The
symbol was introduced to Southeast Asia by Hindu kings and remains an integral
part of Balinese Hinduism to this day, and it is a common sight in Indonesia.
The symbol has an ancient history in Europe, appearing on artifacts from
pre-Christian European cultures. It was also adopted independently by several
Native American cultures.

That's the "Seal's Lair" building on Coronado. This building is
utilized as a training facility and barracks for the US Navy Seals. I've run
across this one before, and there's a lot of chatter about the building's
unfortunate design on the web. The Base Commander and administration have said
that the building's swastika design was an oversight, and the shape of the
buildings wasn't noticed until groundbreaking for construction had already begun
and the first aerial photos were taken of the compound and surrounding area.

That's kind of hard to believe. It would have been immediately obvious on the
original building plans I would have thought?
