Actually the British would be speaking Russian, that's the only reason America

We had the largest empire in the history of the world just before then so we
knew how to fight and win. American's just know how about 'friendly fire'. I
love it when Americans pretend to know what they are talking about and expose
themselves to the world as the mindless, egostical, racist fools they are. This
is not to say all Americans are the same though, just the stereotypes this site

And yes Tiw, at one time the sun never set on the British Empire. American
civilization is just an ofshoot or continuation of English civilization. That is
why English is such a dominant international language. The last two superpowers
have spoken english.
