What did you do with your 79' Fossil?

sold it and bought a great bronco, same suspension and lift (basically), more
lights, killer stereo ( my mom still has the speakers using them as home stereo
speakers in her house. Pioneer TSX-8, i traded her years ago for her home
speakers), i never could get the power i needed from the Bronco and sold it for
the Hemi Cuda.

..............#'s 4-5 & 6.....those were
the days.

I have an old 77 f-150 4x4 shortbox alot like this except its somewhat of a
rust bucket. If it wasn't 700 miles away from me I'd like to
wrench on it and get it rolling again. It has a manual transmission with
"Bull" low and a 351 Cleveland.Because its a shortbox with dual tanks
the
front tank is behind the seat which always made me nervous whilst smoking lol.

I had a 77 with an extended cab (4 kids) and the old 300cid straight six that
was definitely a rust bucket. It was pretty trashed when I got it and I ran it
for a few years 'til it was just too far gone to keep putting money into. It
always ran well, just everything else was falling apart. It served me pretty
well for what it was but it took thirty acres to turn it around with that long
cab and full sized bed. Had some fun lettin' the kids drive it around out in the
field which is kinda the beauty of having something that a few more dings and
scratches won't matter.

Pops had a 73. Sent me and my brother out to change the oil one Saturday,
we're standing there marveling at how much room there is under the hood, he
says, "Ya know, I'm pretty sure I could get in there and close the
hood." And he did. Can't really do that with the new ones.

My son was over here the other day changin' the oil in his '03 Mustang (nothin'
special, just a standard V-6) and I told him about being able to climb right
into the engine bay of the '57 Chevy I had when I was his age and how there was
damn near room enough for someone to fit into just the space between the
radiator and grill under the hood. Even more room around that six in my old
pickup.

I was just talkin' about this this morning then I just happened to run across
this pic. Ya had to climb in there to reach anything.
