My eyes! That's a blindly clean machine. Does anyone actually drive it?

I was wondering the same thing myself but I seriously doubt it.

I'm sure youwould fire it up regularly but probably not drive it on the
road.
Chrome and/or paint on machine parts tend to make things overheat and go kaboom.

Lotsa nice clean work there indeed but .... I despise trailer queens, which
this problee is. If you don't drive a car, why own it
I used to maintain a buddys '62 & '64 Impala SS's and a '67 Chevelle Malibu
SS he owned. They were all show cars and immaculately restored but they were
also daily drivers and always driven to the car shows he entered. He said
owning a beautiful car you didn drive was like havin an uberhot wife you never
had sex with ... what's the point?
Robert was a real character, he also used to say "Show me a man that won't
eat his wifes pussy or jack his dog off and I'll take both of 'em away from
him!". Like I said, he was a character. Sadly he "left the
buildin" a few years back ;(

I second that, Kim. If ya can't/won't drive it then what's the point. That's
like a couple of guys I used to work with who bought new pickup trucks but
though they did drive them regularly they wouldn't use them to haul anything -
what's the point? I like the way Jay Leno does it, taking them out for a spin
now and then.

It's like building a beautiful ham sandwich and never eating it.
Mrkim Report This Comment Date: July 14, 2011 01:18PM
Agreed quasi and then there's my other fave, people who are willin to plop down
an extra $10k for an AWD system on their pickup they'll never haul a damned
thing with, nor ever even let the tires see anything but nice smooth pavement
I mean yeah, it's certainly their $$ and they can spend it however they choose,
but again, what's the point
BTW, yeah Leno is a
real car guy and all around lover of vintage and
unusual machinery. If I had his bucks we'd problee be a lot alike in playin
with the toys we accumulated. The biggest difference is that I'd have a cuppla
machinists on staff just to allow me to build my own dreams.
For years now I've dreamed of buildin a GT-40 with a monster turboed 4 banger
AWD set up. At problee somewhere around 2000lbs and 800-1000hp, AWD with
massive brakes THAT would be some fun

How about a
Lotus 7 replica Kim?
Mrkim Report This Comment Date: July 15, 2011 02:36AM
Always had a fondness for Lotus' but .... to me the original GT-40 is my all
time fave, closely followed the Lamborghini Countach
BTW, true story : Ford Europes prez in the era of the GT-40s was given a one off
streetable version GT-40. After 2yrs Ford offered to sell it to him for $2k and
he said .... Nah.
He also later wrote that was the single largest car mistake he ever made

I bought a Ford F-150 4x4 at a real bargain, saved thousands. The only thing
is I only use the four wheel drive a couple of times a year when it snows and I
don't really need it then. I really wish I could have gotten the same truck
without the 4x4 and increased my gas mileage. My dream vehicle is a '40s model
jeep like they used back during WWII in perfect condition. I would use it daily
and not just stare at it.
