This is possibly the earliest depiction of the crucifixion of the
"Christos". if you notice the crucified figure has a donkeys head.
Some scholars suggest this is making fun of early Christians and suggesting that
the "god-king of the Jews" was connected with Seth, the Egyptian God
of chaos and "sin". But other more recent scholars have suggested this
is the merger of Jesus and Osiris (the Egyptian God of Resurrection who was
murdered by his brother Seth). "Christos" is of course a Greek word
for "the annointed" and could apply to any of the "dying
Gods" like Tammuz, Adonis, Attis, Dionysos and others.

By the way the donkey in Hellenized Egyptian culture represented
"sin" or chaos. In the ancient book The Metamorphoses by Lucius
Apuleius the main character who is spiritually lost is transformed into a
donkey. The Goddess Isis (wife of Osiris) eventually saves him and turns him
into his human form. The donkey headed figure above could represent the worldly
human with its head representing chaos and loss. The figure then may represent
the transformation from the mundane to the sacred. The death of ignorance to
the resurrection of divine wisdom. Isis was also called Isis Sophia and many
early Christians (mostly Gnostics) included Divine Wisdom (hagia sophia) as the
Goddess Sophia in their mythology.

Jesus wasn't a negro, he was an arab. You are a cunt.

Neither were the ancient egyptians. Those black pharoahs were part of the last
dynasty, during which the Egyptians were no longer a mediterranean super power,
but a dried out husk barely held together by the fledgling priesthood.
Also arabs were the first to bring civilisation to Africa, they did not create
any themselves. This is all backed up by facts, the Aztecs left hoardes of
evidence for their civilisation even though the spaniards actively attempted to
eradicate all evidence of it, yet there is not a single glimpse of civilisation
in sub-saharran Africa before hte arabs set up colonies other than the ancient
egyptian colonies. Why is this so difficult to accept?

destructor, you inbred slut monkey, Arabs were not the first
"civilization" in Africa. Yes the Egyptians were Meditarraean, but
there is not distinct "Mediterranean" race or people. I have lived in
the Mediterrean and even am of Mediterranen ancestry. I have friends who are
Cypriot Greek who are very very dark skin yet have the other stereotype features
of nothern Europeans and I have Turkish friends who are blond. The
Meditarranean region is a mix of every "ethnic" army that sailed or
march along the coasts or onto islands. The pharoahs under the Greeks and
Romans were direct descendants of Ptolomy (Ptolomos who was a Greek from
Alexander's Macedonian and Greek army). When you say black pharoahs are you
talking of the Kush?

Indeed there are many mediterranean ethnicities AND NONE OF THEM ARE
NEGROID!!!
Get a map and look at the Nile. Until around 1500 A.D. the Saharra was like an
ocean, completely impassable and no one could live there. The nile and the red
sea were the only way to get from Africa to the mediterranean and the middle
east. The ancient arabs who ruled this region repeatedly conquerred their way
south through history and subjugated and raped the inhabitants, so to this day
there is an arab majority right down to Khartoum and the whole of Saudi Arabia
is arabic. A few black people made it across the red sea and north via the nile,
but didn't cause much of a genetic change as an ancient invasion would have.
Bear in mind that this iwas a long time before christianity and there would have
been un-regulated rape and pillage of any of the people living there.
The Kushites were an ex-colony who took advantage of the fall of the Egyptian
empire. Egypt had just been invaded by the Persians, who were the new power in
the eastern mediterranean. It's army had been destroyed. It's colonies had long
succeeded from the Egyptian empire by this point and when they marched north,
the priesthood there offerred to make the black leaders the new ruling class and
cowing the populace in exchange for not destroying them.
The Kushite invasion triggerred a string of conquests of Egypt by foreign
forces, Egypt was only conquerred by mediterranean powers from this point
onwards. In essence black people were responsible for destroying egyptian
civilisation.
This seems to be the only time in recorded history where a large force of black
people moved up the nile and ruled some sort of consequential civilisation.
Compared to the 2000 years of colonisation and subjugation by the ARABIC ancient
egyptians, this episode does not really constitute the fallacy of a black
egypt.
I never said the Egyptians were white, I only believe in reality. You can't pass
up the racial bias card on this one.
You have been crushed in debate. Admit this please so I can gain the pleasure of
success, justify my moral superiority as the purveyor of truth and most of all
have some evidence that not all people are ignorant fools who sacrifice sanity
for their own petty foibles.
Thanks.

typical Amerikan male crap about "debate". I perfer dialogue. This
is not a debate. We both agree the Kushite took Egypt. We both agree Egyptians
like many Mediterranean people tend to be darker skin than lets say northern
Europeans. I never wrote a "black egypt" you are fighting with
arguements of your past with other people. Step out of your past and read again
what I have written.

"the odds are that Jesus was of dark skin like many modern Iraqis or Arabs
in Egypt. He might have even been dark like modern Ethiopians."
Sorry if you happen to not be a complete madman, but was too absurd to leave
alone.

Gimme a break, just because you hear about or see anything about crucifixion
doesn't mean it has anything to do with Jesus, crucifixion was happening before
and after his death lots.
