2012 Ranger and will not be sold in USA.
pro_junior Report This Comment Date: January 06, 2012 07:51PM
yeah. that.
I want one...

It might compete too much with the current F100 from the news blurbs I read so
not a good market strategy in the USA. Like Ford knows what best for the US
anyway.

Ford didn't take a taxpayer bailout the way GM and Chrysler did so I figure
it's entitled to build & market whatever it wants wherever it wants.

Ford schmord. They begged for the bailout too, they just couldn't get the $14
billion they wanted.
(edit)
Let's make sure to thank the UAW brothers taking home over $105K/year too

I don't find this very exciting PJ.
An F100 seems to be more bang for your bucks.
Get a Toyota.
GAK67 Report This Comment Date: January 07, 2012 05:56AM
Depends what you mean by bang, 'berto. Get an F100 and you are likely to 'bang'
it into something as they handle about as well as a brick.

Ford Rangers were recalled as police cars (paddy wagons) in New South Wales
because they kept tipping over on corners.
Seems the weight of the fibreglass canopy was too much for it.

Ford, like Chrysler and GM looked into the $$ the fed govt was handing out but
turned it down over the interventionistic strings that came with accepting it.
For that I applaud Fords decision to not get to get on the public dole, nor
accept outside influences in how they run their business.
The UAW members makin $100k plus for doin a job that in any other industry would
net such unskilled workers a more realistic income in the $40k range is also a
big part of the why cars have continued to skyrocket in price. And ... to the
UAW reps that same $100k plus salary level would be laughed at as they draw much
higher than that just to "represent" their UAW brethren, which again
adds onto the cost of the cars just as surely.
The UAW people I've known are about as knowledgeable about the cars they
assemble as the average 5th grader is about managing a national economy

Yeah you are right Kim but Ford WOULD have taken the deal if they'd have gotten
their way, there's no doubt about that, and along with GM and Chrysler they did
ASK for a bailout. The intent to get bailed out was still there. But yes, it
does make a difference that they did NOT take the deal.
In a way I think it's great that the UAW bros can make so much money and wish I
could but Jesus Christ, 100K is pretty high up there for unskilled assembly line
work. I know managers and administrators who don't make that much a year.
