I heard on the scanner it started in the ATM room. Maybe someone made
"special deposit" this morning.
pro_junior Report This Comment Date: March 12, 2012 11:28PM
saw this on the news here too...I wondered that too when they said the fire
started in the ATM room...
I didnt even know banks had ass-to-mouth rooms

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 12, 2012 11:37PM
Haha. Figures one of the regular pervs would think of that.
Latest report, an employee saw smoke coming from an overhead light fixture this
morning. By the time the FD got there the building was engulfed in flames and
they couldn't put it out because of the very high winds. All they could do was
keep it from spreading to other buildings and let it basically burn itself
out.
The winds have been pretty bad today. Lots of trees and power lines down around
the county.

What a mess. Glad nobody got hurt.
jgoins Report This Comment Date: March 13, 2012 11:19AM
Did anybody rescue the money? All that money up in smoke, I know the vault had
to be safe but the cash drawers had to burn.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 14, 2012 03:36PM
I honestly don't know but I thought cash drawers had to be fireproof too. Even
if cash burnt up there I am sure it is all accounted for and info stored on
servers off site. I don't think that is a major concern. The bank is already
opening up in a temp location that was a credit union so the building is already
equipped for banking. That is a good thing. Nobody is losing jobs or any
valuables and everyone's accounts are safe. The only loss comes to the bank for
having to rebuild the branch building and I'm sure their insurance will cover a
big chunk of that cost.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: March 14, 2012 03:44PM
not when they figure out that it was purposely torched for the insurance before
the bank went under. ( sheer speculation on my part)
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 14, 2012 04:51PM
Sheer speculation and wrong, it was electrical. As stated earlier it was
determined to have started from an overhead light fixture in the ATM room. I
believe it. I've seen fluorescent ballasts short out internally, overheat, start
leaking black goo and catch fire.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: March 14, 2012 04:53PM
that's easily faked.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 14, 2012 05:17PM
Ok. Whatever. Sometimes shit just happens and there is no conspiracy behind it,
but if you want to go around wearing an aluminum foil beanie or automatically
think that there must be some sort of bullshit going on behind the scenes for
everything bad that happens then I guess that's up to you.

Nope, I don't think that happened. Security has been VERY tight there.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: March 15, 2012 04:26PM
did they catch the arsonist yet?

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 15, 2012 05:18PM
No you dork, because it was not arson.

fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: March 15, 2012 05:33PM
that was a mighty quick investigation. maybe it goes higher up.

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 15, 2012 05:52PM
It was quick because it was obvious what caused the fire. The local banks are
doing really great because everyone pulled their money out of the big banks and
switched to local banks recently and they were doing pretty well before that
anyway. They have no reason to pull some insurance fraud thing with arson.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: March 15, 2012 06:01PM
so it's the big banks eliminating the competition....ah ha!
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 15, 2012 10:24PM
Nope. They'd have to do a lot more than torch one branch to do that and they've
got branches all over Oregon.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: March 15, 2012 11:41PM

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 16, 2012 12:02AM

fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: March 16, 2012 12:08AM
it could be the Occupy retards thus explaining the "brilliant"
execution of the "master plan".

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 16, 2012 12:47AM
They had an Occupy thing in Waldport (population 2010) 16 miles south of here
that three people showed up for. They stood around looking at each other for a
few minutes and one of em suggested going to the park, another one said,
"Is that legal?" Yeah real organized. They had a handful of picketers
on some Occupy day in Newport that was a huge joke. They'd have gotten a lot
more attention with a bikini car wash and made a little money while they were at
it. I don't think anyone around here that would be involved in any of that crap
is smart enough to succeed in setting a bank fire. So no, that theory doesn't
fly either. You do need that pyramid I told you about to focus your mind and
maybe come up with some more possibly viable conspiracy theories.

RACIST!!

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 16, 2012 01:31AM
WTF? Boy, that's really reaching Fossil. How the hell do you get racism out of
any of this?
If I have any racial prejudice it would probably be about Koreans and some other
AZN people and that's just cuz they are impossible to fathom. It's not like I
hate them or anything, I just don't understand their thinking processes
especially when it comes to trying to do work for them and get paid for what you
did. That and they're just generally annoying when they try to pull out the
language barrier card on you. The only Korean person I've not had some negative
experience with was a guy who was adopted as a baby and raised an American his
whole life. So that to me indicates that it's not really a racial thing but a
cultural thing.

people you would ever meet. one lady is 85 years old and a Tai Chi Chaun master.
maybe koreans in the pacific Northwest are different?

.
i have an unfair advantage over most in that i can relate to any form of martial
arts for days on end. one thing i am waiting for to show up on this site.

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 16, 2012 02:03AM
Well that's cool. I've had a couple of bad experiences with Korean persons and
my sisters boyfriend in Florida who does construction, painting, etc says the
absolute worst customers so far have been Korean. I used to chat with a young
Korean woman and she had a lot to say about that culture which supports the idea
that they are difficult to deal with in many ways.
I knew a man from Afghanistan who was nothing like what we hear, read and see in
the news either. He was a good an loyal friend to all. He thought American pot
was shit though. "In my country we throw this shit away. We don't even
bother feeding it to the goats."

i had a couple of asswipe skin head like characters giving me and my girl a
hard time the other day. i was walking along and one leaned into me trying to
give me a shoulder on the way by. i saw it coming ( the look in their eyes
seeing us holding hands ) and proceeded to give him a forearm shiver from hell
before he got the chance....i kept on walking not missing a step.

Taser dude.
I've got a trick candy bar that shocks people, gives a pretty good jolt too. I
removed the circuit in preparation to make it into a little mini-taser, I just
haven't gotten around to the project yet. It won't do any damage to anyone but
it'll shock em and they'll know it.

Blah it's easier to just buy a stun gun. I bought one a couple of weeks ago
and it produces 6.8 million volts of pants peeing fun and I only had to pay $25
for it. I carry it everywhere I go, don't have a pistol right now so this and
my knife will do until I find the pistol I want.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: March 16, 2012 02:11PM
also they are easier to get you an assault charge with. use your hands, feet,
and brain and get away clean every time.

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 16, 2012 03:44PM
Here you are required to have an electronic weapon permit to carry one.
jgoins Report This Comment Date: March 17, 2012 11:22AM
No permit needed in Arkansas. Self defense is a reasonable defense to assault
charges and here if self defense can be seen by the police then assault charges
will not be brought. Besides I would never use violence unless there is no
other way out or to protect someone else. The last fight I was ever in was back
in '73 when a chief petty office Seal team member beat the hell out of me.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 17, 2012 05:40PM

jgoins Report This Comment Date: March 18, 2012 11:05AM
I wasn't but he was. He was transferred to the states the next day and the
rest of the seal team invited me to party with them over the next 96 hour
weekend. That was a hell of a party lots of booze, topless women and private
beach. Here lately I heard that Jessie Ventura was pretending to have been a
Seal around the same time so it might have been him who beat me.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 18, 2012 04:33PM
Coulda been, Wikipedia says he was a SEAL and in Subic Bay about that time.
jgoins Report This Comment Date: March 19, 2012 11:24AM
I think that's where the guy was transferred after, it seemed strange at the
time he wasn't transferred back to the states.
