the odds are that Jesus was of dark skin like many modern Iraqis or Arabs in
Egypt. He might have even been dark like modern Ethiopians.

Of course the contemparary Jewish accounts of the time called him Yeshu ben
Pentara meaning Jesus son of Pentara. Pentara was rumoured to be a Roman
centaurian from the northern part of the Roman Empire. If that is true jesus
could have been a son of a blond Roman which would suggest that mary was a
prostitute. In the 1900s a statue
in Germany was uncovered of a Roman centaurian named Pentara who was once
stationed in the Judean Province. SO either historical Jesus was dark skin or a
bastard son of a Roman soldier.

Jesus' dad
In the Tosefta reference to Yeshu, the title ben-Pandera (son of Pandera) is
added after the name. The surname Pandera is not known from any graves or
inscriptions, but the surname Pantera (the Latin form of Pantheras, literally
meaning Panther), is unusual but not unknown. A first century tombstone in
Bingerbrück, Germany has an inscription which reads: "Tiberius Julius
Abdes Pantera of Sidon, aged 62, a soldier of 40 years' service, of the 1st
cohort of archers, lies here".

There wasn't any images of Jesus until the Sroud of Tyran. It was said to be
his burial sroud. This would leads one to believe that no one truely knows what
he looked like, other than his skin was kissed by the sun and his hair was like
wool.

many scholar believe that the historical developement of the image of jesus and
god come out of barrowed images of Apollonius of Tyana (a Hellenic Sage that
lived at the same time has the historical Jesus and was famous for healling the
sick and raising the dead) and from the statue of Zeus at the temple of Zeus in
Olympia (which was one of the seven wonders of the world).

Sammy Davis was black and Jewish, so why can't Jesus be?
Pagan_Warrior Report This Comment Date: August 11, 2005 01:44AM
I have no problem with the amount of melintonin was in the skin of a Jewish
peace worker 2000 years ago. By the way Sammy Davis Jr converted to Judism,
there were lots of Jews in Ethiopia and they were of darker skin tone than the
average pasty white guy in the USA.

Why do blacks always try to pass off the achievements of arabs as their own?
Don't they have any they can conclusively call their own?
The Egyptians were mediterranean/arab, so was jesus and timbuctu was built by
berber almohads, Carthage was inhabitted by berbers and that roman emperor was
NORTH African.

destructor i am not "black". and many "arabs" were of dark
skin as well as many Europeans in history. for example Dumas (writer of the
Three Musketeer was of dark skin) and Pushkin (the Russian writer was also
"dark" skin). when one looks at frescos at Pompaii one can observe
that skin coloration and "racial" features were not the dominate form
of social stratification. What was the dominante form of social stratification
was class, gender and familial ties. the concept of "race" in the form
of skin tones and other features is relatively new. Geography is not a
limitation to skin coloration or hair type. we must remember that the
mediterranean was not a barrior to far off lands, but was actually a
transportation network for a huge variety of different people coming together in
the cosmopolitian cities that sprouted through out the mediterranean and the
along the roman road ways. in that jesus could have had an
"indo-european" father like Tiberius Julius Abdes Pantera of Sidon.
Lucius Apuleius was from near Carthage and was actually blond because he was of
northern european ancestry that migrated to the roman city that was resettled
there.

but may have died like alot of people for a cause or a false accusation which
happens even today.

So will you admit that jesus was not negroid or not?
I promise to stop crushing you in debate if you say just this one thing. I love
sticking up for the truth and all that, but I don't have time to crush every ass
I find in debate. I promise to stop disproving your warped ideals in front of
everyone on this site if you repeat after me.
"Jesus was not a negroid, he was a mediterranean arab, like everyone else
in the same region."
Bob_the_Apostle Report This Comment Date: August 12, 2005 01:54AM
Negroid or not? lol I do not think we know whether Jesus was even a real person
or a single person let alone a skin tone or fitting one of the racial
characteristic that modern humans have made up. We have lots of secondary source
that are often conflicting. There are accounts that if he did live he did not
even die on the cross.
As for Mediterranean Arab well... what the hell does that mean. I have known
Arabs from Lebanon who are blond and blue eyed and who will tell you their
ancestors have lived in the region for thousands of years. Listen the concept of
"race" is the problem. If you are thinking "negroid" like
from the Congo well I would say "I doubt many people at the time and place
Jesus might have lived shared those specific features." On the other hand
we do not completely know because unless you have his bones or a time machine
its pretty much gone from scientific recovery.
sitandpurdy Report This Comment Date: August 12, 2005 09:08AM
Here is a question:
If Jesus was the son of "god" then what is his genetic code like? Does
"god' have genetic code? If so then isn't that limiting for a "supreme
being". If he does not have genetic code then what was Jesus' genetic code
from? If from Mary only then he would be a woman. If from a man then technically
that man is his father. let's face it Jesus was a bastard. A man not a
"god" and all you freak christians are just that freaks. And that goes
for the freak jews and moslems too.
