green patination in most places. The Helmet has been manufactured with exquisite
detail. The Helmet has long protective cheek pieces and a short curved flange at
the back, the high dome decorated with two pairs of prominent ridges over the
crown. There is also circle decoration around the facial opening and holes at
the front and back for attachment of a feather plume in antiquity. At the bottom
front of each cheek protector there are perforations for attachment of body
protection. condition: Very good for a genuine ancient helmet - some restoration
to the dome and flange. Period: 500 BC - 450 BC. Height: 9 inches. Length: 8
3/4 inches.
Width: 6 3/4 inches. A comparable Helmet with a similar quality patina sold in
Christie's London with a reserve of $36,000.
