Well if the barcode says $1.99 then $4750 should be pretty close to what the
government is charged.

I think that is a bit exaggerated but the idea is pretty accurate. I'll tell ya
one thing though, that money doesn't trickle down to the employees who process
those contracts and bids.

Although that is certainly a consideration I've done a bit of reading up on it
and some of the additional costs are due to the paperwork and administrative
costs involved in satisfying the gubmint paper trail and request for bids
requirements crap. That said the bulk of the crazy costs are because the greedy
assholes who get the government to buy their shit can get away with it and
manage to "justify" it on paper.
