Liberals brought us:
1. 40 hr work week.
2. Paid vacations.
3. Child labor laws.
4. An end to Jim Crow Laws.
5. Equal rights for blacks.
6. Cleaner water and air.

That's to name a few. Conservatives brought us good things too, and I'm not joking about that. Idiotic attacks like yours won't work on people who know their history.

Imagine a nation as a bird (American's might like to imagine an eagle..).. It has a left wing, and a right wing. Without either, it cannot fly.

That 2 party system has your head all fucked up. It's the corperate party of america that drive all this bull shit.

Oh and Prescott Bush in with the Natzi in about 1934 or so. Guess I'm lucky the Bushs', Duponts' and others got the wistle blown on them before overthowing the US Gov. just like Hitler did to Germany. Wonder if Jeb's not winning in the polls in 2008 if George W will declare martial law? "terrorist alert is RED, and it's hard work when your going alone...uh...stratgrie."

Any way.. check up on the past (prescott bush)

Note: I didn't say "left party and right party". The french "Assemblée Nationale" -- the equivalent of the US House of Representatives -- is where the terms "left" and "right" came from in the first place. Look it up folks.

France, a country with 55 million people, has 7 represented political parties - left, right and centre.

The US, with 250M people (/that's 9 times as many/), has 2 represented political parties - corporate, and corporater.

Does anyone else see a problem with that?

Toucan is right: The Bush family has had their hands in all sorts of dirty shit for years, including involvement with Nazi corporate interests (IG Farben, to name one... google "IG Farben prescott bush" for some enlightening info).:

"George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany."

Kinda like the French and Germans were doing with Sadam.Prescott is remembered as an asshole for good reason,so why not the French and Germans who profited off the oil for food program and the U.N. who profited and played coverup. There were women and children who could have used the food and medicine but never had the chance. Not like the sweet and kind Sadam was going to give it to them anyway.John I do agree that the left and right system is the best,I just get a kick out of people like Ellen Ratner who said she hoped the war in Iraq went bad so Bush would not win over her candidate.

Kinda like America did w/ Saddam in the 80's, giving him military aid to ensure his dictatorship stayed in place, and kept the ultimately fragmented Iraq together... "stability" it was called.

Now "instability" is the desired option,... and guess what? Civil fucking war in the desert. Great. yay. blah.

238240: Remember, democracy was designed by Liberals upset with Kings and Queens.

Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, all of our Founding Fathers were liberals. Proof is that the "conservatives" (or "Tories"winking
smiley all took off for Canada and the British Caribbean territories during the American revolution.

Even only 150 years ago democracy was such a radical liberal idea that only 2 countries practiced it, and even then only partially -- United States and France. Sorry England, yes, you sort of started the process with the Magna Carta (which brought the world more or less to where Athens and Rome were 1000 years before), but Queen Victoria still had too much power to give you a complete pass as a democracy in the 1850s.

No, if conservatives truly were allowed to rule we would all still be grovelling in front our feudal lord (who we would know as our king "because he doesn't have shit all over him"winking
smiley.

Ultimately Conservatives need Liberals because their entire philosophy is based on opposing attempts to change what existed before (hence the term "Conservative," from "conserve" or "keep"winking
smiley. Without liberals the typical Conservative conversation would go something like "What do you want to do?" "I don't know -- same thing as yesterday?" "OK".

Sorry you got smacked with some facts. I'd guess anyone could type anything they want to here, From poking fun at each other to letting you in on some REAL info also.

Do you ever check things out for yourslef? Maybe someone is bullshitting or giving you actual data. If some things have meaning to you, or some type of interaction with YOUR life, you should know about things. Unless you just like it better not knowing and being naive.

History lessons are wonderfull, but it is history.Todays liberal would not fit in with the founding fathers, abortion, gun control, and removing all religious references from government and government institutions was not on there agenda.Thats the platform you think they would support.

A note to TrueBlue, your list is pretty complete and that was in the day when Democrats had a backbone to their party and actually did something good for everybody. It hasn't been that way since JFK died. When he died, the party died with him.
