I should point out the biggest appeal of things British, why their flags are
popping up around the world: The Westminster System and, specifically, Rule of
Law.
The Westminster System: influence comes from below. It's very democratic.
Rule of Law: as opposed to the Roman and Chinese systems of Rule by Law, or the
yank system of Rule by Corporations.
Europe is increasingly becoming a Roman Empire type nightmare that people
rebelled against so often. China was implementing a Rule of Law by an
interesting method: bring in magistrates who had passed judgements on similar
cases to give evidence. But... someone sailed a fleet up the Chinese coast,
said they can do what they want, bullied and pushed, thus the Chinese response
of the Nine Dotted Line, acted the same way to Russia and... here it comes.
NB. Captcha, who on earth calls them 'crosswalks'?

Update, China is expected to be ready for war in 2027.
In the 1800's the yanks sailed a fleet into Tokyo Harbour, pointed their guns at
everyone and ordered them to open up to trade. It took fifty years for them to
be ready for revenge at the insult, thus Pearl Harbour. Even then they were not
quite ready, the politicians pushed it early for their own wants. We know how
that worked out, and so must the Chinese. Yanks. If we want peace in the world
america should just sink beneath the waves.

British flag in Hong Kong had nothing to do with rule of law, it's the fact the
majority of Hong Kong residents want to return to 1997.
