I think it's obvious that he really likes airplanes and likes to fly. I fly and own my own airplane. If I had John's cash I'd do the same thing. Not to mention most pilots would love to live with their planes on a private air park. As far as large jet aircraft go, the boeing 707 is not as expensive as you think compared to other aircraft of it's class. An example would be to compare the 707 to the much younger, modern 737. Keep flying John.
