how would an asteroid strike create a ridge that follows the equator? I think you are on to something with the ping-pong ball though. it is probably a sloppy weld joint when the planet was put together. We need to send a massive grinder over there to smooth it out. This should be top priority for the space program. Very weird moon, it is pure black except for the pure white splats. What would make big white splat marks??
