74166 does make a good point that the U.S. fully supported Saddam all the while when he was brutalizing his own people. Bush and his fading "coalition" (a sadly, laughable term) did not go to war because they gave a damn about Saddam's treatment of his own people...all of emphasis on a "free Iraq" came after WMD failed to materialize.

But the original poster is right that regardless of our backgrounds and beliefs, we all offer a prayer of thanks not to have to live in a war zone. Couldn't hurt to offer a prayer for all who have to go through war, irregardless of their background.
