- He's right, arabic is a phonetic language, so the actual translation into English can be anything that sounds approximatly correct. Osama, Usama, Asshola, whatever. In fact the FBI refer to him as UBL, for Usama bin Laden.
Remember Kaddafi? Or was is Qadaffi? Similar issue, phoenic Arabic into English.
Remember when Beijing was Peking? Same issue with Chinese, no literal translation.
