No, 20020 is right.. the sun is high and behind and to the left. Look at the shadow on the wall bricks. The shadow on the wall from the clothes line is misleading in this photo as the loss of depth perception makes it look like you're seeing the shadow of the rope you're seeing. In fact I'd say the shadow of the top white clothespin is the dark spot on te very bottom of the image. The rest of the clothes line shadow would be down the wall and on the ground to the left of the photographer. Hence the shadow on the "thing" is correct although maybe a little too much to the left.
