Sorry to hear about his demise. Though I never thought of him as a great actor, he was still better than many others and carried a personal integrity that was admirable as a fellow human. He and his family chose to stay here in Texas to keep themselves isolated from all the glam of Hollywierd and what I've read about him pointed out he was never on the inside track there because of that decision.

Really just a guess but I would imagine he might have well been a good father and husband so my heart certainly goes out to those who will certainly feel the deep personal loss in his passing
