The best thing that could happen to America, at this point, would be for space aliens to come down and abduct the entire Congress in one fell swoop. Second best would be for a solidly Republican Congress and a Democrat president to be hopelessly gridlocked for the next seven years, unable to agree on anything more substantial than resolutions in honor of famous dead people and National Marmot Appreciation Day.
