When I lost my job in jan. 2009 I seriously considered getting rid of the internet but then realized, in part because I was still on only $25 a month dialup with an under $50 a month landline, that job searching was less expensive on the net when you figure fuel used and newspapers bought. I had another job from my internet searches in jsut a few months at a time when it was nearly impossible to get a job around here. I had basic cable at the time and that was the first casualty which I don't miss much.
