Do you believe your own crap jg? The difference is simple to understand, and I am sure has been pointed out to you. A gun is designed for targeted killing.
Your argument could be taken the other way. Should we give open access to rocket launchers, land mines, attack aircraft (manned or unmanned), plastique, etc? By your argument it doesn't matter if people have these and use them to kill others, because if they weren't available they would find some other method.
