I think it was some amateur base jumping competition. Quite a few of them made some pretty fundamental mistakes though - like forgetting parachutes...

I actually live in New York .. I know that many jumped from the towers .. nut this picture look's like it has been photo shopped .. i'am also a photographer I know this is not real.....
