BTW - the pic above is from the Iranian Embassy siege in London, 5th May 1980.
The pic shows two troopers jumping through the front balcony windows after
having deployed frame charges to blow in the window. All the terrorists were
killed apart from one who is serving life imprisonment.

The only guys who can survive in a jungle with a machete and nothing else. If
they can do that well in a jungle do you really want to see them walking down a
street towards you? considering they have had a "personal training

I once had this discussion with an American and he would not accept that the
SAS/SBS are the best in the world at what they do, even though our special
forces trainedtheir special forces. In world war 2, Hitler was terrified of our
commando's and when the German soldiers heard bagpipes coming they knew they
were in for a severe kicking as the Scottish regiments were equally feared.
Put it this way, if I was in a hhostage situation I would rest easy knowing
British troops were coming to rescue me but would be scared if I thought it was
the Americans (ever heard of 'Friendly Fire'?), thanks to the Russian example
with the school I would be terrified if I thought the Spetznatz were coming for
me
