I don't understand it. The government issues a "GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE STATE" warning 2 days in advance and people stayed at home.

It becomes difficult to stay sympathetic toward people who chose to tempt mother nature with distaster predicted. This coupled with last years hurricane damage.


Maria ... What should I pray for ? That they survive ? That they die rather than be in misery ? What ? Is this Gods divine way ?

"Beast" for the first time, I agree with you! They were told on Friday to get the hell outta Dodge; not. They chose to stay. What bothers me is the ones left behind are now ludding, which I don't care what they call it, it's STEALING. As far as going somewhere else, "Mint", it's not hard to drive north and find a hotel that's not in the direct path. I've been in the path of a Hurricane, so please, don't preach! I beleive "aDCBeast" probably has also that's why he's not to sympatatic either.

Just because a general alert has been issued, doesn't mean that everyone will suddenly be able to leave a city.
If you don't have a car then it IS hard to drive north.
People may not have the means to leave and some people may not have the financial resource to be able to depart.
The term is 'looting' (not ludding ) and I agree with 9.5er that that is definitely wrong, but don't withhold your sympathy from the genuine victims of this natural disaster become some of the people who stayed behond are running amok and stealing.
