The american soldier - Just bright enough to carry out their orders but not smart enough to question whether those orders will get htem killed.

A soldier carries out the orders he's assigned. I suppose everyone here wouldn't mind marching around in jackboots to the German national anthem if those poor "dumb" soldiers hadn't done their job over a half century ago.

Beast,if every soldier questioned his orders if he thought he could be killed,we would have lost every war we ever fought in.Brave men do things that could kill them to save other peoples lives. Each soldier depends on the other to accomplish the mission. Its kinda like the U.S.A. were at war and have been for a while yet we are not united in seeing it through.Hell it looks like we have even gone to the level of insulting soldiers for doing what they are supposed to.Some even take delight in seeing us fail.If you feel that way please leave the country,go to your favorite country,I will help you get a ticket.Even movie stars, please dont waste your precious money I will work to make the money to get you out of here and somewhere you can be proud of and happy.

Thank God for the American soldier. Good men with more balls than all the posters on this site put together, shouldn't say balls put together here, causes too many posters to get hard and breath hard.

Too bad they are working and killing for greedy-ass capitalist pigs at this point in history. I feel bad for our soldiers, I hope someone fucking brings them home and stops using them as tools overseas for greed. But the poor have always been used to kill the poor in every war there ever was.

Duane: why don't you put spaces after your punctuation? It's hard to read your postings.

Also, how many wars have American soldiers been in that have actually been about defending America itself?

John, I'd rather fight them over there before I'd have to fight them in my back yard. It's also about protecting our citizens, our interests, and our assets abroad. I'm a Gulf war vet, Desert Storm. I'd do it again.

Greedy ass capitolist pigs are the reason we enjoy the lifestyle we do.John I spent 4 years in the Infantry at Fort Benning, got out and spent 3 years doing drugs and drinking all the time.If there was one thing I could complain about it would be the alcaholism in the army was rampant. The reason I bring this up is I was homeless for three years and just couch surfed and sold drugs, amazing how far it would get you.I finally realised what a lowlife I had become.I tried to start over and it took three years to acomplish it but 10 years later I started my own buisness and now have health care and a good wage.Im sure others would scoff at my life but untill I realised what a lazy ass I was and how I hurt people around me I had nothing.During my stay at the bottom of the barrel I saw all kinds of people on welfare and while some deserve it most dont. Most of the people I sold weed to either came from families that were supported by the government or were supported directly. This is also where I found the most demented views on society from thieves and dealers to murderers and perverts. The other buyers were college kids who wasted mom and dads money, got high and talked about things like satanists, government oppression, how great europe is and it reminded me of this site remembering back.Funny thing is these kids are the ones getting all the greedy capitolist jobs and all this was recognised by a high school dropout. For gods sake I dropped out of school and make around $1000 a week doing flooring. Its not hard to make money,I try to hire people all the time but they either dont like hard work or they are addicted to something and cant make it to work. They can make $500 to $1000 a week and struggle to make it to work. That should be an indicater of how good the economy is.Well my life has changed and its not hard to change you just have to want to.Im no millionaire but I dont want for much that I dont have and I love my country and the opportunities it has given me.I cant forget God because with two attempted stabbings in six months in 1994 Im unscathed and one I was so drunk I could barely stand up so I didnt stop him 4 TIMES according to the witness.Well enough of my rant Im sure everyone has better shit to do but if you try you can do it in this country.

Anonymous@90130: If we'd stop fighting people overseas, we wouldn't have to worry about anyone attacking us, now would we.

Duane: Yes, you're right, capitalist pigs are the reason we enjoy the hollow, materialistic life we do. Ain't it great! Too bad its built on the backs of the poor elsewhere in the world. Bummer for them.

I think we tried to ignore everyone else's problems once before..... a thing called isolationism. that was cool until the whole world collapsed around us.

Ignoring other people's problems is one thing, adding to them is completely another. Bombs and guns to not help anyone.

I hope we can get those boys and girls out of the hellhole our president has put them in.. .for his own greedy, machiavellian purposes. I feel for our soldiers, they shouldn't have to endure fighting to support a neo-Islamic government, like they are right now.

Fossil, clearly not. There comes a time to stand up and fight, and there is good reason to remain prepared to fight. I don't think there was a good reason to bomb the shit out of Iraq.

Ok, sure, let's take dictators out of power - that's a tricky thing. For one, the USA has assisted and made lots of deals w/ dictators over the years, so our actions to take out one of them sounds really pretty hypocritical and self-serving. (The USA helped Pinochet into power, the USA worked with Saddam for many years until he gave them the finger). Second, how come we are so perfect that we can enter a soverign country and remove it's leaders because we decide they are 'bad enough'? Very delicate issues.

What would I do? Before we bombed Baghdad, I would have continued to use diplomacy to isolate Saddam, and worked through the UN to keep weapons inspectors on the ground. Dictators under spotlights have a hard time doing bad things.

Bombs and occupation were not the answer in this particular situation.

i agree that bombing is a bad decision, but how many years did the iraqi people suffer cause of their leaders stubbornness? 1 year is one year too long!yes we had to do with Saddam rising to power, and that alone makes it our responsibility to take care of him. isolating him did nothing but make him more defensive towards the outside world, and more aggressive towards his neighbors. I'm definitely not saying that i have the answer, but do believe that every reasonable option was taken to it's full extent before acting. as for the w.m.d. situation, it was the only feasible accusation that the world would get behind us. the inspectors were given the run around, and only allowed to see what Saddam wanted them to see. i think it's impossible to say it shouldve been done a different way and been right. BTW where are ya from?
