I like it, thanks Dubya! Americans should be grateful we have a man in the office that will hunt down terrorists in whatever country they try to hide in. The pussies on the left wouldn't do it..

pussies on the left wonder how many terrorists we are creating by killing tens of thousands of innocent people in whatever countries terrorists try to hide in. Plus Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. :O

Funny how the DoD stopped publically keeping track of terrorist events around the globe after the numbers started climbing steeply after we invaded Iraq. Keeping us safe? I think not.

The better way to 'hunt down terrorists' is to not give them the dignity of a military reponse, but to track them with police investigations and treat them like the criminals they are. When we kidnap a known terrorist, and then torture him, his evidence becomes inadmissable in court. So then we have to assassinate him quietly, which makes us as bad as them.

Remember, Dubya WAS the sitting president when the Towers were struck... and after ignoring significant evidence that something of that kind was going to happen.

Oh, my bad, I forgot that the Towers were used as a pretext to further our geostrategy against China's growing need for oil and Liquid Natural Gas. We occupy arabia, they cannot get to the goods w/o going through U.S.

what can i say we got to stop china somehow - they will fuck us over if we give them the slightest inch - they will probably fuck us over any way we cut the cake - its just a matter of time

Do we have to 'stop' them? Can't we all share the world? Or does it have to come to war? Would the U.S. be more successful by being honest and dealing multi-laterally with other nations? Perhaps in this way the U.S. could build a network of opposition to China's expansion, and we wouldn't have to 'go it alone'. But as it is, we feel the need to flex our military muscle practically everywhere we go, we piss people off, and guess what... they are happy to deal with China, because the US will send its corporations in to rape them otherwise. In other countries' eyes, China looks friendly and the U.S. looks like a violent state increasingly out-of-control. I seriously suspect that the ploy in Iraq will not work in the long run. It will only ally China with arabia.

Remember, the West plays Chess, but the Chinese play Go. Meaning, the West can win the battle, but the Chinese have their sights set on the very long term, a long term we can't see right now.

Bin Laden -- Free.

Zahawari -- Free.

Zarqawi -- Free.

Seems like he is not doing such a good job of hunting down all those terrorists you all are bragging about and promising. Over 4 years after 9/11 and not much significant success to show for it. "a man in the office that will hunt down terrorists in whatever country" -- As they say, actions speak louder than words and as we say down here, that dog won't hunt.

people that think we can just go out and "pick-up" these assholes is naive to say the least! they're whole life is dedicated to being invisible to the naked eye. only what they have done and claiming responsibility from a safe place. quit bashing , and help support your president, and maybe just maybe the time frame will shorten. all your energy expended towards the negative could be used alot more usefully

Wait...are you saying that Bush has a degree in anything? He was a low C student, his daddy had to pay big bucks to get into college. As for N. Korea, they have 1,000,000 men in their army, they would kick ass on the U.S. troups, not to mention they have nukes. Iran? We would be bogged down more there than in Iraq.

"Quit bashing and support your President? Be a patriot?" That is idiotic. Putting aside the obvious quip that I am sure that was not your position when Clinton was President, and I am sure that your position will again change when the next Democrat is elected President, since when has mindless adolation been a virtue? I am sorry. I was willing to give this guy (Bush) the benefit of the doubt back in 2001 and 2002, but at some point one has to look at results. The results have sucked. To put it mildly.

And yes, digger, I do have a degree in Political Science -- School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University. In addition, I have friends fairly highly placed in the military and the State Department and they all -- without exception -- believe that the present administration has f^&$ed this up and not through bad luck, but rather through refusing to face facts, reports or realities that did not otherwise comport with their preconceived notions. In otherwords, the "adults" were acting like spoiled children who did not get their way.

By the way, go read some of the articles that have come out in the past 2 years in Foreign Affairs or any of the other serious journals if you do not take my word for it. Even the Kato Institute and other seriously conservative think tanks are against the way we are handling the "war on terrorism."

"Support the President" isn't a plan, it is willful ignornance of reality -- the kind that puts us all in unnecessary jeapordy. Think about it.

As my mamma used to say, "if all of your friends jump off a cliff, are you going to jump too?"

i have supported EVERY pres. we've had. you can't please everyone everytime. as for n. korea and iran, sure it would be the greatest undertaking in recent history, but is necessary to the overall well being and sanity of the world. unless these kind of regimes are eliminated,we, the world community, will never be safe from tyrrany and suppression. we have to question the pres. during planning and decision making processes, but when he makes his stand we need to back him 100%! no questions, or the credibility of his decision will be greatly soiled. recent history as a perfect example.

I don't have a degree in p.s., so i guess by my own comments, my opinion isn't worth shit. I've never been much of a political devotee, but backing the pres., in my eyes, is just plain patriotic. I'm proud to be a citizen of the greatest country in the world. when something is done to bring down regimes like these, i become the biggest cheerleader of them all.
Truth_from_Georgia Report This Comment

I too am proud to be a citizen of the greatest country ever. I just want it to stay that way. Way too many people worked way to hard to see it going the way it is at the moment. True patriotism is doing what is right for the country. Sometimes that means being against the present political order. Example is Zimbabwe -- who is the greater patriot? The party hack who is bulldozing shanties and running off productive white farmers (supporting their President, right or wrong) or the opposition leader willing to face jail, torture and death to say that Mugabe is a nutcase? Same analysis applies to Cuba. Same analysis applies here. Not to say that Bush equates to Castro or Mugabe: He clearly does not. But to say that just following by itself is not patriotism. Following what you believe to be right for your country is patriotism, and sometimes that is to go against those presently in power. Sometimes it is to follow those in power to the end of the earth. At the moment, my best judgment is to go against.

That is what I think is so misleading about the argument -- people confuse following Roosevelt in WW2 (which I happen to believe was 100% correct and had many relatives fighting in -- I am not old enough myself) with following Bush today (which I believe has made us weaker and has deteracted the military from the role it should be playing -- wiping out existing terrorists, not creating training grounds for new ones).

At least we can have a rational discussion, which I appreciate. Way too much immature namecalling on this forum. Calling each other names is the surest way to show you have no real argument. I appreciate your point of view, Digger, I just disagree and wanted to explain why.

I'm glad SOMEONE disagrees w/a logical response. like you say too much name calling, that just nullifies your argument. i still say that unfortunately for the world, we are the only country with the balls to say enough, and back it up! hope it continues. the FREE world needs to rally behind bush and "git 'er dun"

I once saw an interview on TV with Bill Clinton and the interviewer kept hounding Clinton for his oppinion on how Dubya had treated the Iraq situation but Billy wouldn't bite until near the end of the interview he finally responded and his answer was so true.
He said no matter what happens in the world there will always be bad people out there like Saddam and no matter what we do to rid ourselves of people like that there will always be more bad people coming behind them. So when we seem to have made a fix today the bad people coming after will be that much worse to us for what we have done in the past. In effect what we have done is rid ourselves of Saddam today only to have somebody much worse to follow in his footsteps tommorow. So our children and our grand children will be the ones to pay the price. The problems and the issues that face Iraq and other nations like Iraq today have been around for thousands of years and unfortunately Bush is not going to be the guy to end them.
On the issue of patriotism, Bill Clinton was the president before Bush so I would assume that all you patriots out there would have followed him and were loyal to him. What I fail to understand is how you can be loyal to one presidents way of running the country only to do a complete 180 in favour of the next presidents way of running the country. You have to agree that Clintons way and Bush's way are totally different from each other.
