Griffith, by all accounts, is an asshole. Unlike their onscreen personnas, I
think Knotts was the greater professional, even though to some degree they
played they both tend to play the same character every time they suit(ed)
up.
The old Andy Griffith show will still be watched (and then ignored in every day
life) for generations to come.
Pretty damn sad.

I was fortunate enough to meet Don Knotts on several occaisions when I worked
for a dinner theater in the midwest in the 1990s. He was a helluva nice guy and
his plays were always the biggest draws. Bye Don, thanks for a lifetime of
laughs. You'll be missed.

As a kid, I thought Knott's role in "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken was pretty
funny.
