word for word it might be peaceful, but islam, the same with any other dangerous religion, is bound to be misinterpreted and cause violence.
islam is life? sorry, but any white light religion that revolves around the idea of an afterlife and suggests that our actions in life determine how that afterlife will be is then based on death- not life
islam is strength? when two million people waste there lives praying, there is no strength in that- prayer is useless
there is action and there is reaction and it is a shame that a few bad apples have fucked it up for the whole bunch, but i really don't see the purpose in yekrolims(judeos-xtians-islamists) or what they have to offer me... other than amusement as they destroy each other making the final sollution much less work for my kind

Prayer is in fact useful, billions of people around the world know this, and actually science has shown that people who pray or meditate are calmer and able to deal with adversity much better.

Which is not to say that =sharia= law has any connection with =equality=, it doesn't appear to whatsoever.

As for the brilliant ethicist that is 119234: "one nuke ... problem solved" ? My friend, nukes solve no problems, they only create many, many more. May your chromosomally-damaged children's children bless the finger that pressed the button...

To say science has proven benefit from prayer is meaningless, and I ponder how that result could have actually have been verifiable at all anyway.

Any agenda can find someone willing to manipulate the data in the proper fashion to accomodate the desired outcome.

Ok, 9 out of 10 Jews who survived the Holocaust had some sort of belief structure that gave them faith, and enabled them to control their attitude, allowing them to survive in the work/death camps when others simply expired.

Having belief, and engaging in prayer/meditation does not imply being led around by the nose by a power-mad "religion". It does mean recognizing spirituality in everyone though.

I have read the same as John Stone in the news. Prayer or meditation often lower the persons heart rate and this was done as a study by anthropologists or some other group. Not stricly scientific but outside of a lab there are rules governing these things too. The lower levels of stress lead to better problem solving and the time taken to "talk" to someone about existing problems decreases the amount of time spent worrying. Much like going to see a therapist, I suppose.
