most incredible house. walls are walnut and the moldings are incredible, but
is quite a dark and gloomy interior.
my favorite historical house in Galveston

It can't be that old if it is in Texas though

Built by the J. Arthur Rank organisation to serve as backdrop to cheap horror
movies.

Galveston's history is quite interesting to me and my family. everything from
the mob and gambling to the Houston ship channel construction.
my great uncle was a naval doctor in ww2 and lived in Texas city (mainland) for
a few years assigned and awaiting reassignment/deployment.
the city has quite a few historical sites, but the bishops palace is my
favorite.

Cool house.
Galviston is cool but Texas City blows goats.

yeah not much interesting there.
but it's history is shadowed by Galveston's and there are not many books or info
available about the city
