But we are getting no spoils out of it anyway. What spoils did we get out of
WWII? Seems to me that Iraq is getting all the spoils not us. Time to move on

What you (America) got out of it, was Japan and Germany (West Germany, as was),
as protectorates.
What, in part, scares the shxx out of the USA, is the formation of a united
Europe, the USA effectively losing its hold over Germany. That, and oil trade in
anything other than US dollars.
You just gotta stand back a bit, take a look at the bigger picture. Then you'll
see.

But before you do that, you first have to realise that A) there is a world
beyond the USA. And
you cannot go around taking what you want by
force. Try it first with your immediate neighbors, see if they'll stand idly by
while you relieve them of whatever it is of theirs you've taken a shine to,
before invading another country. Somehow, I don't think you'll get a favorable
reception.

We can't invade Mexico, they already have millions of troops in our country
already. Although that does give us a legitimate reason to invade.
