I am at work now so don't have any pictures of my dog, but this one was bred
from the same kennel, so is related.
She had a happy 13+ years of life though.
My 10 year old son is devastated.

Sorry to hear that, Gak. Such a pretty dog; what breed is that?

Samoyed, and thanks.

That's too bad. I've lost a couple dogs myself. Pretty sad.

Yeah, but it's not my cat - it's a dog, and it's not MY dog

the saddest day of my life was when my last cat Bozo died in my arms. he took
his last breath looking into my eyes.
my mom had to put her 20 year old cat down last month. she says they know all
our secrets and they love us anyway.

I had to have our 10 year old dog put down and the vet made me stay with her
while he did it. Never again. I looked in her eyes and it was all I could do
to maintain composure. The wife was able to leave the room but it was really
rough on me. I don't understand, I have put other dogs belonging to my adult
kids with a pistol but when the vet touched my dogs eye to see if she was gone
that was it.

Pet owners are sad and pathetic. Animals are food.
I can understand pets for kids but not for adults.

We value human life above animal life but perhaps that's wrong because humans
can be downright evil while animals are just honest creatures whether they're
bad or good.

you can tell alot about a person by how they treat animals....i think the
wobster may have gotten an "F"

I like animals and it takes a lot of time and work to take care of them
properly. The only pets I have are some fish in a tank and I don't want any more
dogs or cats.
jgoins Report This Comment Date: January 28, 2012 11:45AM
I have 3 small dogs and they are treated just like my kids were. They are part
of the family and they act like it. Dogs can extend the lives of their owners
and bring happiness with their unconditional love.

Hey, very sorry to hear that. Loosing a long time companion is very hard.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: January 28, 2012 05:26PM
That's true JG. I'm just so lousy at taking care of them that it isn't fair to
the animals. I don't mistreat them or anything but I don't give them enough
attention and they're just like kids that way. They need a lot of attention.
Where we live right now pets aren't allowed and I'm sure if/when we move
somewhere they are allowed I will be overruled by my wife and daughter about
getting a dog and/or a cat. Right now we're fortunate to have a roof over our
heads.

occasionally I tell cheddar that when he dies, I'm having his hide made into a
hat...

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: January 29, 2012 03:49AM
Cat fur is supposed to be most excellent for insulation and comfort. I don't
know about using it for a hat but the idea sounds better than a coon skin cap. I
hate racoons and their fur looks crappy and ugly to me. A nice striped tabby on
the other hand...

That new TV show where pets are stuffed is a little disturbing to me. After
mine died I just can't imagine having her stuffed and laying around the house
that just seems wrong like having a dead child stuffed and sitting at the dinner
table.

It'd stop people from coming over.

Being a full time nudist in your home stops people from coming over too. Plus
not having anything to do with neighbors helps as well.

I suspect your extreme pessimism helps stop people from coming over too..

I am actually very optimistic except where government and politicians are
concerned.
