That is a Siemens 2.3 MW Wind Turbine Generator, around 80 meters high and 108
meters rotor diameter. we're putting about a 100 of them in Ocotillo, southern
CA

Siemens is a German company. This pic is of a factory in Iowa; TPI Composites,
Inc., based in Arizona but has at least three manufacturing facilities in other
countries; Mexico, China and Turkey... At least they are providing SOME American
jobs.

American jobs are only good for Americans - not everybody (not even everybody
on this website) necessarily wants jobs for Americans.

American economy is not independent of global economy and it never has been.

Many of the ones built in Australia have turbines made in the USA.

The Siemens blades I could look up are 153 ft in length so they must be hauling
them in sections since truck trailer lengths are restricted to much shorter
than that (around 83 feet I think). Feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.
pro_junior Report This Comment Date: July 11, 2012 07:16PM
they use special trailers or two separate trailers...have seen them hauled,
full length, two at a time side by side
