Shortly after this, in order to take a job, I cut the hair & lost the beard - my own mother didn't even know me when she first saw that.

When I finally grew tired of all the sideways looks and under-the-breath comments I left over a foot of gentle wavy locks sittin on the floor when I walked outta the salon, Never was much on beards though I kept a mustache for nearly 30yrs.

In keepin with the older hippie underground look now it's a flat top in the summer, grow it out over the winter and clean shaven year round
