I can't find anything that references anything like this.
[
www.cdc.gov] certainly disagrees, saying as at October 15th that death rate
is 300k higher than average over the past 5 years for 2020 and only attributed
200k of those to covid.
If that's true, and 2 people per minute dying of covid then look forward to
smashing that 3 million.

Even IF the post is true, that number is with lockdowns, so people are not
driving as much, not doing as much stupid stuff, not doing as many dangerous
jobs, schools and other mass gathering locations are closed more. That means
less road deaths, less accidental deaths, less workplace deaths, less mass
shooting deaths. Imagine how high the number would be without the lockdowns -
more covid deaths than with the lockdowns, and without the reduction in other
deaths!

Cool story, that's for 2018. I meant current stats.

So other types of deaths are down (perhaps due to restrictions and precautions
made for COVID) while COVID has become the #1 cause of death in the U.S. Not
much of a reason to not take precautions against COVID.
