It's showing TOTAL medals, the results after this event, not the winner of this event.

Actually I saw this on.. I think a CNN ? article about how the US won the swimming championships (my wife is an avid swimmer/fan) due to the total medal count.

The consensus of every Olympics or similar is golds rule the roost. You could have a thousand silver medals and you still lose to a gold.

But I also don't care, so there's that.
