Harumpf. Of COURSE I can't replicate.

The search results in;
user (hyperlink)
tab (hyperlink)
image (thumbnails)
AI vision (thumbnails) *If available e.g. pulse won't return this array.

However I rarely see anything in the image section.
At first I was sure it depended on if you are logged in or not.
It could occur AFTER you get booted out, which is still a mystery but has happened to a few users.

Yeah it'll return up to 4 boxes, in order; with only the bottom 2 returning thumbnails.

one matching usernames
one matching tags
one matching image titles
one matching AI text descriptions

So eg 'spoon' or 'fish' result in all 4; whereas 'pulse' or 'woberto' don't have anything matching the AI text so returns only the top 3; and 'genius' only returns image title results.

It should work if you're logged in or not. If you think of something where it's wacky let me know and i'll see if i can reproduce.

a few days ago I was searching for a certain image with the word 'friendly' in the image title and received 0 image results...but now that same search yields a dozen image results
