I've never driven a column shift manual.

The last one I drove was a 1979 GMC pickup at work around 1986-1988. A few
years before that I drove another work truck, a new 1981 Chevrolet pick up that
I think may have been one but may have been an automatic - long time ago, can't
remember for sure. I do remember that the only speeding ticket I ever got, the
only moving violation I ever got, was in that Chevy in 1982. I'm a carful
driver.

Three on the tree.. drove a couple of them way back in the 80s. One was an old
chevy pickup and the linkage would bind up sometimes so would have to jump out,
pop the hood, and fidget with it..

Learned to drive a 4 on the tree 1988 Toyota Hilux.
Managed to downshift 4th to 1st and do a 180. Woo Hoo!

I had a column shift auto. '72 Fairmont.
Dad had a column shift auto Valiant of some description too.
But yeah definitely never driven a column shift manual.

Only car I ever owned w/a 3 on the tree was a 70 Duster. Had a glitch in the
linkage too and would hang between 2nd and 3rd, usually when down shifting. Much
prefer a floor shifter in a manual.
Only ever owned 3 vehicles w/an auto tranny: 69 Plymouth Satellite, 69 Dodge
Dart and my 98 Dodge pickup

I drove a car with three on the tree once in college... it was an emergency and
I pretty much goofed things up.
