Obviously from Melbourne I'm not used to the same constant temperatures as
Darwin; but the heat in Europe hits differently.
Nothing is air conditioned to start with. Restaurants might have a fan but
that's about it. The ferry I took yesterday was the same. Most shops you go
into, etc. so there's nowhere to escape it even just for a moment.
And because you want to make the most of your time you get out and about in it
when normally I wouldn't. So 5h or whatever it was yesterday in 36 just felt
like 10 hours in 40+. And there was no air movement. Little to no breeze.
Might head to Verona today but that might even be worse as it's not by the lake.
I did consider going to the Dolomites because it's cooler up the mountain..

The other thing with Europe is, everywhere is built from stone which radiates
the heat.
There are central gardens etc but otherwise it's just paving and brick walls.

Yeah I suppose anything over 30c without relief will give you a headache.
