Maybe "The Americas Cup" was a brief rivalry but anyone younger than 50 wouldn't know.
Definitely "Olympic Swimming" is a rivalry albeit a fabricated one. USA dominate Australia but if there is ever a "certain win" on the cards it will be an Aussie that does a Bradbury on them.

I'm not sure where rivalry comes from. I don't think anybody really cares about the US for most things.
