I wish. No company vehicle anymore. Have you seen the price of a new car
lately!?!

Yeah. Been looking around a bit. Too expensive, might have to hold onto the car
for another year.
Or investigate a novated lease again..

I just put a pile of money in my nearly antique Outback replacing some worn
steering parts and the dead AC. Can't live in Florida without AC. Still better
than new car payments and I really love the car, it's like the Swiss army knife
of cars without all the electronic bullshit of the new ones; I prefer to drive
my car, not have it tell me how to drive or drive me.

I rented a.... umm.... Hyundai Tucson IX35 in Ireland.
It wasn't a bad car. Comfortable enough to drive, and despite being a diesel
didn't feel totally gutless. But fuck me, the lane keep assist and speed
checking it did..
Driving twisty B/C roads in Ireland I was constantly crossing the line on the S
bend corners where you could clearly see through, and it'd start beeping its
head off and pull the steering wheel hard, almost out of your hand, to stay
within the 'lane' which was barely the width of the car. Every time I'd get
within a few km/h of the speed limit it'd squeal and beep and flash. Drove me
mental.
Yet it did all of that annoying beeping and it was nearly impossible to tell if
the electric hand brake was on. And because it was a manual, if it wasn't, it
rolled if you parked in neutral. It didn't care about safety then..
I turn the engine auto stop/start function off on my car every time I get in it.
I hate it. You can't disable it because it's part of whichever euro/Australian
fuel economy standard. Every time.. at least it's only 1 button press.
That's my worry with all new cars. They're all so damn 'helpful', and it's a
hassle to turn all the shit off. And even when you do, you need to do it EVERY
time you start the car because it all forms the safety and fuel standards.
