It's just sunning on a cold day and stealing the sun's warmth from the turtle which was there doing the same thing before having the sunlight rudely blocked. Gators are so uncouth. It must've been really cold for the turtle to have not jumped into the water when the gator started its awkward climb on. When I'm kayaking and turtles are sunning on logs like that they usually dive back into the water when I come along unless they're very, very cold and just unable to move. Same with gators. Actually they plop into the water; hard to be graceful when you're a turtle or gator out of the water. Maybe it is love, girl turtle in love with the bad boy gator.
