"I had the pleasure of serving Mr. Frank Beard — Drummer of ZZ Top —
for years.
Long story short, years ago I delivered scaffolding to his home near the
gallery. He had two Dalmatian dogs. It was lunch time when I delivered it to
him.
He didn't know me at all, but he said, "Hey, it's lunch time, you want a
sandwich?"
I was working for United Rentals at the time and I hadn't taken lunch yet, so I
said sure.
We sat in his backyard and ate turkey sandwiches and drank tea. We talked like
we had known each other for years. That's how down to earth he was.
Many years passed, and I started running 9er's BBQ in Richmond, TX for a
wonderful family. He walked in the door and I reminded him who I was. I didn't
think he would remember... but he did.
He always ordered two chopped beef baked potatoes all the way.
Bless you and your family. I've been in your mansion on earth — show me around
the one you have in Heaven when I get there.
Rest Easy Sir.
