Seems like the point is "If our flag (culture,laws,social structure, etc.)
bothers you, sign up for a ride on the next thing smokin!" I fail to see
any duality in a message like that, and whole heartedly approve the message it's
sending.
It's kinda like a conversation I had with a cuppla Yankees I overheard bitchin
about bein in Texas some years back. I told 'em both that I didn't personally
know any one who had invited them here, nor did I feel as if anyones feelings
would be hurt if they were to leave, so if they didn like it here, why not tear
their asses back to where they came from so we could all be more pleased with
ourselves, or ... STFU! That same exact logic seems to apply nicely in this
instance too

Sorry, just don't get how there's any sort of duality or hipocracy associated
with the statement the banner is making. The US only has one flag, period, and
if it bothers you to see it flying here then you're pretty obviously livin in
the wrong country. And ... livin here is afterall still a choice which includes
options for alternative actions if the flag is such an unwelcomed sight in ones
eyes

i would hope that everyone else on here from another country would stand up and

I feel there's a huge incongruity in what our government does and how it acts
globally relevent to what the average American thinks and feels in how things
SHOULD be handled. Sadly, the bulk of the rest of the world only knows the
actions of our government and then judges all Americans as a whole by what they
see our government do.
The US has always been, and will always be a very diverse place with people from
every corner of the globe as citizens here. Our culture is a melting pot of
everything the world as a whole has to offer, which serves to make everyone
willing to embrace this country, no matter where they are from, a home.
With all that having been said, the US, our society and its diverse culture is
NOT for everyone, which is still Ok, since freedom to dissent is (at least)
supposed to be a right we hold.
Lastly, if living in the US is so totally disagreeable that one feels they want
to be elsewhere, that's within our scope of rights here too as we are free to
leave any time we want. Personally, anyone who doesn't want to be here should
exercise their rights and get the hell out. The loss will be theirs, not mine,
but we'll probably both be better for it all in the end

Well fossil, I can't speak for your countrys flag (personally though I think
the USA flag is too iconic in the world to change it), but my countrys flag
still has a union jack in the corner even though we have been independent from
the british for some time (despite the fact the queen is officially our head of
state). As is typical of most "western" countries there are so many
other cultures here now. Also, the culture of the native people here is strong
and they were never defeated by the invading English, signing a treaty with them
instead. I would like to see my countrys flag changed to reflect less of the
British influence and more of the native people's culture. I'll proudly stand
behind any flag that represents my country though, cos afterall, it's just a bit
of cloth, it's what it represents that is important.
