I think I'm right in saying the Korean war is officially still going, they just have an armistice

They should take away his public speaking licence for a few weeks.

Armistice do not last indefinitely, you need to renew them, so God knows what Korea have in place. The North say they are still at war and the South say it's an armistice.

There is only one Armistice Day for me (they even chose a date so the stoopid American date system couldn't get it wrong) and I always observe a minutes silence at 11am. They extended this armistice a few times before they signed the treaty.

Also, where the people say Germany was defeated or Japan was defeated, politicians say "a surrender was negotiated" and as Anakin Skywalker said, we then began aggressive negotiations, with lightsabers. Poor Japan.

Japan were suicidal but were actually more scared of Russia so maybe the nukes were a necessity to end it before it got even worse.
